Cadwalader Heights Civic Association is honored to share our anniversary with Habitat for Humanity of Trenton, who celebrated their 20 year anniversary the same day as our house tour. Half of the proceeds from our house tour tickets sales went to support Trenton Habitat (see the article from the Trenton Times). 100 Years of Timeless Design
1907-2007

Experience History and Design Together

More than one thousand people joined us on October 6th to visit our homes and see just why we think Cadwalader Heights is so special. They helped us to raise many thousands of dollars for Trenton’s Habitat for Humanity, a non-profit charitable organization that works to alleviate the shortage of quality affordable housing in the Trenton area.

Cadwalader Heights is a neighborhood of castles and cottages and sizes between. Tudor, Victorian, Classic Revival, Arts & Crafts, Mediterranean, and Cotswold Cottage all reside in design harmony.  20th century American architecture, design, and construction create the timeless appeal.  Stone, brick, concrete, wood shakes, and rainbow slate add material and visual interest to the homes of Cadwalader Heights.

Cadwalader Heights demonstrates authentic design vision.  Stroll the neighborhood and homes to see a two story stained glass window and carved limestone fireplace.   Gilded ceilings and sweeping staircases, curvilinear plaster walls and Juliet balconies, solariums and sun porches are a few of the unique features seen during the tour of homes.

In houses built by last century artisans no detail was overlooked.  Designed for the comfort of Trenton’s 20th century elite, foot baths and jet stream showers of renowned Trenton Tile fit the 21st century lifestyle of Cadwalader Heights’ residents just fine.

People and Places

Cadwalader Heights is now home to performing and visual artists, educators, architects, entrepreneurs, business and science professionals.  Visit the Neighborhood Journal to learn more about the homes and residents of Cadwalader Heights.

A History of Cadwalader Heights, written by architectural historian Glenn Modica, is a timeline of the people, planning, development, and building of Cadwalader Heights and is available for purchase online and at participating homes the day of the event.  Read an Excerpt.

A Design Event

We incorporated area restaurants, florists, craftspeople and business partners to help us celebrate Cadwalader Heights' Centennial.  Serving signature dishes, restaurants share hospitality in many of the homes. Florists communicate art and design in floral arrangements adorning the homes.  See Participating Business Partners.

Community Benefits

Your participation benefits Trenton Habitat for Humanity and the Cadwalader Heights Civic Association (CHCA). CHCA donated half of the House Tour ticket sales to the local chapter of Habitat for HumanitySee the article from the Trenton Times.
